About Us

The digitisation department was responsible for the digitisation of all resources for inclusion on the Secret Shropshire web site.

These items came in various formats, with objects ranging from postcards to ancient parchments. To achieve the digitisation targets a variety of equipment, such as a specialist overhead scanner and a flatbed scanner for scanning film and slides was used. The digitisation department was also responsible for capturing unique images for the web site, using digital cameras to provide images of Shropshire's heritage.

As well as preparing the images for inclusion on the web site, the digitisation department also assisted the researchers with producing the text to accompany them.
