Comfrey

The Daisy must be one of the best known flowers in Britain, common in most gardens and parks.  Few people would know that the flowers and leaves of the Daisy are edible (although slightly bitter), and even fewer would know that this pretty little flower was formerly highly valued as a treatment for wounds.  Those soldiers lucky enough to survive the Battle of Shrewsbury might have used this plant to speed their recovery.
