Bookworm damage

Date: 2003

Description: Bookworm is a general term for about 150 species of beetle which attack and devour paper. The beetles lay their eggs on the edges of books, generally on the lower edges next to the shelves. When the eggs hatch they burrow into the volume, making tunnels in the pages and covers. They not only make the text difficult to read, but also causes the paper to tear more easily.
