Bedlam furnace

Bedlam furnace

Date: 2002

Description: The Bedlam furnaces were made famous by Philip de Loutherbourg's dramatic interpretation of the Coalbrookdale valley, which showed fire and smog filling the valley. Bedlam furnaces got their name because on-lookers thought that the sight they saw looked more like a lunatic asylum than a blast furnace!
