200 steps, Bridgnorth

Date: 2003

Description: In 1890, a meeting was held in Bridgnorth to discuss alternative ways for the people of Bridgnorth to move between the High and Low Towns. At the time, the only way to move between the two parts of the town, was by walking up these 200 steps. By 1892, the town had a cliff railway to carry the people of Bridgnorth up and down the cliff.
