Ludlow Castle

Date: 2003

Description: Richard, the Duke of York, and leader of the Yorkists during the Wars of the Roses (1455-1487) took a particular liking to Ludlow. In 1454 he sent his sons, who were later crowned as Edward IV (1461-1483) and Richard III (1483-1485), to be raised at Ludlow Castle, away from the troubles and intrigues in London.
