Description: The elevated location of Caus Castle can be seen in this photograph. The castle lies on a ridge of high ground at the east end of Long Mountain. The light covering of snow shows the remains of medieval ridge and furrow in the fields rising up to the castle. The snow has melted on the ridges but remains in the shaded furrows (Photograph by Dr Paul Stamper).
