Shrawardine Castle

Date: 2003

Description: All that remains of Shrawardine Castle is fallen masonry and part of the old moat. The castle was probably built around 1100-1135 and was dismantled by Cromwell's men in 1645. Much of the stone was carted away and used to repair Shrewsbury Castle. (Photograph by Dr Paul Stamper).
