Description: Stokesay Castle is a fortified manor house built in the late 13th century by Lawrence Ludlow. He was a wealthy wool merchant who wanted a beautiful house with good security. From the tower you can see this pool and do a spot of birdwatching as it attracts waterfowl and waders. Photographed by Don Burgess.
