correspond to the following list of periods. Whilst it is appreciated
that the validity of certain dates will always
be debated, this timeline was followed throughout the site to ensure
consistency.

the Norman invasion in 1066.
- King Offa ruled over the Kingdom of Mercia from
757 until 796.
- The Doomsday book was completed in 1086
- The first Crusade started in 1097 under the
direction of William II, while the final Crusade ended in 1270 during the reign
of Henry III.
- The Wars of the Roses began in 1455 and ended in
1487.
- The dissolution of Monasteries under Henry VIII
dated from 1536 until 1540.
- The English Civil War was fought from 1642 until
1651.
